Veronica Beard Sweater Dress for a Wintery Monochromatic Look
One of my favorite Fall/Winter looks is a sweater dress with booties. I think it’s easy, chic, and always feels both cozy and put-together.
I also like playing around with monochromatic color combinations (green has been my latest obsession) – so in today’s look I combined the two: a great sweater dress in a beautiful green, paired with a green coat – accessorized with complimentary neutral tones in my shoes and bag.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- Sweater Dress. I am a big fan of sweater dresses that aren’t skin-tight but still have a shape and just the right length – and this Veronica Beard Banner Dress fits that criteria nicely. I really like the decorative (and functional) button detail on the neck – if undone, the collar can be pulled down on one side, which is a great quality for a turtleneck design – in case you like the neck to be lower. Also – when it comes to turtlenecks, they do tend to create less balance as they come up so high – so the buttons relieve the eye and move it down a little, creating more visual harmony. It’s made out of Merino wool – so it’s super warm but lightweight – and it’s now on sale – I found it on a few different store sites, check the carousel below!
- Wool Wrap Coat. I’ve styled this Sentaler Shawl Collar Wrap Coat in a previous look (HERE) and it’s the perfect tone to coordinate with the dress – just a touch darker so it looks like the continuation of the color of the dress. I love when two tones come this close while still having some contrast – it always makes for an interesting, dimensional look.
- Chic Booties. My trusty Coclico Link Booties in a grayish color complete the look perfectly! I took these pictures when it was warmer in NYC, but in colder weather, I would also choose grayish/greenish stockings to go with the outfit – to elongate the leg-line and create visual elegance.
- Structured Designer Bag. This outfit called for something chic and simple – so I styled it with the Givenchy Mini Antigona Leather Satchel in beige cappuccino.
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Fall/Winter!
