About Me

Get a small glimpse into what inspires me to do what I do.

Image & Wardrobe Stylist and Personal Shopper

I’ve always been passionate about fashion and clothes, and feel that I inherited my sense of style, aesthetic and taste from the women in my family. It amazed me how, even with our limited resources when I was growing up, my mom was somehow able to dress my sister and me to look our best. She helped me develop an appreciation for clothing quality and taught me how to properly take care of my wardrobe to extend it’s lifespan. She showed me how to wear the same outfit in so many different ways that no one would notice it’s the same, just by changing accessories, hairstyle and shoes.

After years of being in the fashion world in different capacities (fashion forecasting, merchandising, jewelry design), and many degrees and certifications in the field (more on that below), I decided to start Modnitsa Styling to offer my clients a structured approach to “designing their look”.

I received my certifications as an Image Consultant from FIT and IRC, and became an Associate Member of AICI (Association of Image Consultants International) with an FLC (first level certification).

Since 2014, I have been chosen to work with the exclusive American Express Centurion Card Member Program as one of only three NYC Personal Shoppers. I’ve also been recently named #1 Image & Wardrobe Consultant in NYC by Thumbtack, and my business was mentioned on the front page of the NY Times Business Section.

I am always soaking up the inspirations around me to bring my clients the freshest and most relevant style and fashion advice, so be sure to check out my blog  for fashion tips, shopping insights and inspiration, and don’t hesitate to drop me a line if you have a styling question, or just to say “hello”.

My Certifications

Education and training are extremely important to me as they help enhance my intuitive eye for fashion and style. I truly believe my certifications set me apart from other stylists and personal shoppers. My training allows me to offer my clients insightful advice that is grounded in years of learning and experience.

I’m particularly proud of my certifications from AICI (Association of Image Consultants International) as an Associate Member with an FLC (First Level Certification), and FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in Image Consulting. I make an effort to dedicate time each year to continue my education – learning new methodologies and attending AICI conferences & events to get inspired.
