Chic Zimmermann Ensemble that Captures Pre-Fall Elegance
As we’re near mid-August, the fashion cycle completely switches over to Fall – and pre-Fall is the first taste of the Season, when the fabrics and silhouettes are still Summery, but the colors become more saturated, richer and more refined.
I have a few more Summery looks to share, because, as I said before, I like to hold onto it for as long as possible, but wanted to interrupt that programming to show a pre-Fall look I styled that I think is so perfect for the coming month and a half of still warm weather.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- The Zimmermann Set. I love Zimmermann – and this Aliane Floral Print Scalloped Linen Top + matching shorts combo is so stunning, and the colors and pattern are so gorgeous, I knew I had to style it for pre-Fall. I typically don’t go for sets – and prefer to break them apart, but this ensemble works together and almost looks like a jumpsuit – but gives you the benefit of wearing both pieces separately. I talked about the peplum top in my recent Try-On video on Instagram – and about how much I love the corset feel, the straps and the waist definition of the peplum. It is very tight – so if you’re between sizes, and plan on wearing it with a bra, I would recommend sizing up. The shorts run true-to-size, but are super high-waisted, and wider in the hips – which I Iove. They are also slightly longer on the leg – which is chic and elegant. I also like the Cassia Scallop Trim Shorts in a similar silhouette – but different color palette.
- The Coclico Neutral Sandals. As I expected, I’ve been absolutely loving these crown sandals from Coclico – that I’ve been wearing all Summer. I’ve featured them in a few previous posts, and am waiting for this color to go on sale – so I can let you guys know to grab them for next Summer!
- The Structured Bag. My favorite way to add elegance to an outfit is to complete it with a structured bag (and timeless sunglasses of course). This Staud Mini Shirley Leather Tote has the perfect shape and size to feel polished and still remain functional. And of course the colors nicely complete the outfit.
- The Sparkle. The true piece de resistance in this outfit is this pair of Lindsi Lane x Luisa Alexander Nolita Earrings. When Lindsi Lane – an influencer I love following – launched her fashion jewelry collaboration with a fine jeweler Luisa Alexander in June, I knew I wanted to own a piece, and these limited edition earrings, named after one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods, were the ones that called my name. The collab has since sold out – but I wouldn’t be surprised if they start popping up on eBay and Poshmark – and I’ll keep you posted if I spot any!
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Summer! As always, please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
