Dressing up Straight Leg Jeans for Spring and Summer
As we head deeper into the Summer, I’m definitely wearing less jeans and more dresses/skirts, but I did want to share one staple look for cooler days – styling a pair of straight-leg jeans – a style that has become increasingly popular. It’s easy and casual – but also effortlessly chic.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula:
- Ultra High-Rise Ruffle Straight Leg Jeans. I do think that as far as straight-leg jeans go, the higher the rise, the better the fit – and the more flattering. When I found these lettuce waist-band reworked Agolde jeans, I knew they would look so cute for both dressed-down AND dressed-up outfits. I love the slightly faded dark color as I really don’t have much of it in my wardrobe, and they also come in blue. I think it’s easy to style them with sweaters, tees or tanks for casual outfits; and they work nicely with blouses for more going-out looks. The ruffled waistband makes them feel more feminine, while the slightly wider leg fit makes them SUPER comfortable and stylish.
- A Colorful Clutch. I’ve had this Cuyana leather clutch forever – and it’s always a great pop of color to add to simpler looks. I think having a nice reliable clutch/pouch in your wardrobe is really helpful – you can always throw it inside of a larger tote, or carry on its own, and it’s great for travel as it typically serves a few jobs – as a makeup bag, a catch-all and evening accessory. Unfortunately, this Cuyana one has sold out – but I found some similar options, see carousel below.
- The Tee. I think one of the keys to styling a simple tee is the arm cuff. Lots of times I’ll try on a tee and it will feel like it’s too stiff/uncomfortable, but with just a little adjustment on the sleeve it immediately acquires a nice relaxed quality. This one is from Sezane – and I love the simplicity of the single heart and the off-white color that goes so nicely with Summer wardrobe pieces. I also found a few similar ones, see below!
- The Comfortable Heels. I’ve styled these Inez Isa Slides in another look for Summer – and I love how they go with both jeans and dresses equally well. You can use code Modnitsa15 to save 15% off your pair! (mine are in the color “chalk”)
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Summer! As always, please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
