Rose Gold and Yellow for Fall
Happy {Official} Fall!
Even though the calendar says the new Season has started, with the gorgeous Indian Summer weather (and I’d almost say — too hot to handle weather), and traveling to an even warmer L.A. this past week, I’ve been holding onto Summer and holding off rotating my closet for Fall. I do still feel like I want to embrace that Autumn feeling – so I’ve been pulling transitional pieces from my closet and putting them into more Season-appropriate combos via color and texture, with some layers, of course.
One of the easiest ways to add a feeling of Fall to your wardrobe is through one of the “it” shades of the Season – burnt yellow (or mustard, or sunflower yellow, or ochre – whatever name you want to give it). Varying shades of the color, from light to deep, are all over the stores for Fall, and I love the feeling of the sun warmth mixed with a deeper, slightly more grounded effect the color carries with it.
For today’s outfit post, I added another one of my favorite shades for Fall rose gold – and put together another transitional look that will carry you from early Fall into Winter.
The exact ingredients of this look are:
- The Suede Moto Jacket. This Blank NYC one from Anthropologie comes in a variety of colors and the fit is very flattering – a little edgy but not devoid of femininity. I also curated a few other options (including some non-suede ones) – check them out below.
- A Pair of Trusty Brown Flat Boots. I’ve had these back-zip Gucci Leather Boots in my closet for close to 10 years, and even though they’ve been around so long, they still work perfectly for both the casual and more elegant looks as they have a slightly oval toe and the back zip details add some flair. I’ve found some cute similar ones for your shopping convenience below!
- A Yellow Clutch. This is the color pop of the outfit, representing one of the season hues to the fullest. This Clare V. Flore Clutch is also quite soft and has a removable (or hide-able) chain for added versatility.
- A Pleated Midi Skirt. I believe a Pleated Midi Skirt to be a Wardrobe Staple, and this A.L.C. Eleanor Asymmetric rose-gold colored one is tres chic. It sits high at the waist and I love that it has a flirty slit – so even when paired with tall boots, it creates some movement and interest, and doesn’t make the outfit feel closed up. It will pair great with a french-tucked (front-tucked) sweater as well!
- A Cropped Leather Jacket. This Rebecca Taylor Gray Leather Jacket is one of my favorites and it has 2 options for wearing it – which makes it even better of an investment. Featuring a removable zip-up peplum, you can create multiple looks with it. I wore it with a peplum in this look. I love waist-highlighting jackets as they create polish in the outfit by defining ideal proportions. Bonus points for no closure – as it eliminates distraction and allows for some busier elements in other pieces (i.e. see below).
- A Graphic Tee. I stocked up on quite a few of these Zara graphic tees earlier this year as they bring such fun to the looks and dress down most pieces – adding instant urban cool. One of my favorite ways of wearing a pleated midi IS when paired with a tucked-in graphic tee.
- Chic sunglasses. Last but not least, a pair of statement shades complete the look.
I hope this inspires you to check out some pieces in yellow and add them to your wardrobe for Fall! Please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
