Markdown Mondays: The Perfect Thanksgiving Outfit
Happy Thanksgiving week, fellow fashionistas!
It’s one of my favorite holidays – when there is no pressure of gift-giving involved, and you can just enjoy time with family and friends. And, of course, it also marks the beginning of Holiday craziness – with all the retailers doing their Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. I’ve noticed that this year it started even earlier, with my inbox being full of “Early Black Friday” deals – and I have to say, some of the savings are hard to pass up!
So for today’s #MarkdownMondays, I’ve chosen the best deals I’ve seen so far, put together into the perfect Fall/Thanksgiving outfit.
The key to this look is not to sacrifice the comfort but to still feel stylish and on-point. I also worked with the styling concept of “linking” – which is the idea of telling a story through your outfit to make it come together elegantly. In this case, I used color and pattern to be my “linking” details.
Check out our outfit ingredients below:
We start with this beautiful Marilyn Dot Skirt from Anthropologie. The fullness of it makes it super flirty and fun, and the colors and multiple patterns lend themselves to mixing well with other patterns and complementary colors.
That’s why I picked this Italian Featherweight Cashmere Striped Turtleneck from JCrew to pair with it. The stripes of the sweater resemble the check pattern of the skirt, creating harmony – and the colors work in an analogous way.
Playing off the deep purple/burgundy color of the skirt, I chose these classy and classic Ann Taylor Odette Suede Bow Pumps in “tawny port”. Their 3 1/4 inch heel will make you feel taller & more polished, and they’ll go well with most trousers/pants (for the office) AND jeans (for the weekend/going out) – so at the price of $42.44, they’re an obvious choice.
This Rebecca Taylor Washed Leather Jacket in “sugar beet” adds a bit of instant “cool” to the outfit, and this Banana Republic Regal Crystal Curb Necklace puts the sparkle into your look (and can be re-worn again for all your holiday needs)!
