Leather Mini Skirt and Turtleneck Chic Look for Fall
Every Fall, I see tons of leather hit the stores, and this year is no exception. I think leather (be that vegan or genuine) is a great fabric for Fall/Winter as it keeps the warmth in, while staying cool on the outside – and creates chic and easy looks, that are both timeless and edgy.
For today’s post, I styled an oldie-but-goodie leather mini skirt that I’ve had in my closet for years (another “personal vintage” as I call it) for a super simple but creative & fun look.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- The Leather Mini Skirt. This skirt is by Leifsdottir for Anthropologie, and I love the silhouette and fit of it. It hasn’t aged since I’ve had it, and has really only gotten better – which is a great quality that leather can have if taken care of properly. One piece of advice I give to my clients when it comes to leather care is to store it in a cool place, and if possible, turn the pieces inside out – to keep the dust and moisture off as much as possible. Hung vs folded is also better so as not to crease the leather. The silhouette of this skirt is a high-waisted skater skirt meets a mini a-line skirt, and it pairs well with heavier sweaters (slightly tucked in the front) and turtlenecks, as well as tees & button-downs. I couldn’t find it online (even on eBay) as it’s an older style, but I did find a similar one from Veronica Beard, check it out below!
- A Creative Turtleneck Sweater. I styled the skirt with this fun sweater from Veronica Beard. I love so many things about this long-sleeve turtleneck – the color palette, the striped design, the puff shoulder, the ribbed fabric, the fit, need I go on? 😉 The style is called “MIX STRIPE PUFF SLEEVE STRETCH COTTON TURTLENECK TOP” and I’ve tagged it below, along with a few other similar ones I love.
- My Most Worn Bag. The LV Speedy is a bag that goes with everything – a great wardrobe staple. I’ve found a few on reputable reseller sites, check them out!
- My Most Worn Heeled booties. As I mentioned before, I’ve styled these Coclico booties with a ton of looks I’ve shared (not to mention, I actually wear them ALL THE TIME!) and this is one of three recent ones I’ve had photographed where I styled them for a completely different outfit feel. Coclico shoes, while an investment, are definitely worth it!
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Fall! As always, please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
