Easy Date/Brunch Fall Look
Fall is always an exciting time for fashion & shopping as it’s “Sweater & Coat Season”, and with all the Fall holidays – like Rosh Hashanah, Diwali and Thanksgiving, it feels like a new beginning of sorts (even before the New Year) – and turning a new fresh leaf for your wardrobe seems appropriate.
I’ve been really enjoying helping my clients update their wardrobes for the Season – across different stores and categories, choosing cozy leather jackets, heavier knits, and even some holiday looks here and there already.
This past weekend, I was invited to come check out the new Nordstrom NYC before it officially opens on October 24th – which is a beautiful 7-floor behemoth of a department store; it’s unlike most other stores in that it supports many “bloggers turned designers”, helping them showcase their collections – like Something Navy, Atlantic-Pacific + Halogen, Gal Meets Glam, and many others. It also is refreshing to have a Nordstrom in the city as with it come brands like Reformation, great selections from J.Crew and Madewell, curated inside the store, mixed in with high-end brands, tons of experiential set-ups and lots and lots of bars (like a Shoe Bar on the Shoe Floor). Definitely check it out if you have the chance: 225 W.57th street, corner of Broadway.
I invited one of my clients to join me there for a Fall Shopping Session, and we had a great time selecting some key pieces for her wardrobe, including a cute pair of booties, a leather coat, a gorgeous dress and chambray top. I’ve included the pieces we chose for her in the carousel below – so you can check them out too!
But before we’re fully immersed in coats and sweaters, I wanted to share another transitional look, that’s perfect for a Fall Date — whether it’s a daytime one or evening outing, or even a brunch.
The exact ingredients of this look are:
- The Tailored Ankle Pant. I love A.L.C. pants in general as far as high-waisted, ankle crop styles go, and this Jackson Pant is comfortable and stylish – working just as hard for the office as it would for date-night.
- The Flirty Top. I’m absolutely in love with this stunning Allia Cross Stitch Flared Top by Zimmermann. It’s just the right amount of sexy and demure – with lacy sleeve details, shorter length and subtle peplum. The army green color is very Fall.
- A Stunning Clutch. I instantly fell in love with this Cult Gaia Mini Estelle Faux Shearling Bag. It’s playful and unique – and will transition perfectly for all your Holiday/Winter events.
- A Pair of Flats with Personality. I’ve been opting for more practical shoes lately (although, I do still love throwing on a pair of heels as they instantly make me feel more put-together) – but sometimes a pair of unique flats can do the same. I think these Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats are just adorable. I own a similar pair in red (featured here) – and they add a feeling of fun to any outfit! You can also swap out these flats for a pair of heels or booties to take this look into the evening. Coat optional 🙂
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar look for your next Fall Date/Brunch! Please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
