Easy and Stylish Fall Mom-Style Look
As a busy mom and stylist, there are days when I really don’t want to think about what I’m going to wear – so I love having some outfit formulas that are full-proof: easy, comfortable, polished AND look like I’ve made an effort but don’t go over-the-top.
For today’s look, I wanted to share one such formula – which builds on the elements of detail and colors, using simple pieces that can be repeated over and over and over again.
The looks features a sweatshirt that I styled a few of my clients in last Season during our Personal Shopping Sessions – from Rag & Bone (and it’s a silhouette they keep coming back with as it’s so popular).
The exact ingredients of this look are:
- The “Not Your Regular” Sweatshirt. Because putting on a sweatshirt literally feels like the most comfortable, but not quite the most fashionable idea, this piece is the perfect bridge between the two. As one of my clients had put it “it looks like I’m trying but still wearing a sweatshirt” (she is a mom of 3 and busy professional too). I think Rag & Bone really nailed it with this design!
- The High-Rise Straight Leg Jeans. This is another piece by Rag & Bone. I’m not always in favor of straight-leg or boot-cut jean silhouettes as they can be truncating on the leg, but the higher-than-usual rise on these jeans cinches the waist and balances the look. Plus, they’re SUPER comfortable.
- A Bold-Colored Bag. It’s always a great idea to brighten a simple look with fun and colorful accessories. This Gucci Soho Leather Disco Bag is practical with a cross-body strap, fits plenty, but still looks stylish because of its simple shape. Win-win.
- An Updated Sneaker. This Vince Blair Perforated Sneaker is a slip-on design, looks cute and is easy to wear with everything from jeans to dresses and even dress pants. It looks clean and uncluttered, unlike wearing an athletic gym sneaker, but serves (almost) the same level of comfort. #momapproved
- A Little Bling. I wore my “I AM” {Strong} Bracelet by Stephanie Gottlieb to complete the look. I adore jewelry with a message – and this collection empowers women to remind ourselves of how we want to feel. As a mom, I often have days when I’m juggling so much that I lose perspective. Looking down at my wrist and remembering to breathe in my strength has become a useful reminder.
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar look for Fall! Please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
