Early Fall Jumpsuit Look with Show Me Your Mumu
Happy September! It’s one of my both most favorite and least favorite months of the year. I love it because it’s still warm and feels like Summer. I don’t love it because behind it is true Fall, followed by Winter – with shorter days and less sunshine, and an overall feeling of inactivity. I also DO love September because it’s that special time when you can start wearing layers (especially at night) but can still wear short sleeves and shorter hemlines.
For today’s outfit, I styled a quintessential September look – a romper with sandals. It’s a great ensemble that can be brought into Fall with the addition of a light layer. I also chose colors that are both Summery and Fall-inspired – deep green, pink and white. The color combo of green and pink is one of my favorites – it’s fresh, youthful and nicely balances feminine touches with the energy of renewal, change and abundance.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- Shorts Romper. I’ve recently discovered a brand called Show Me Your Mumu. It’s a funny name – and admittedly some of the silhouettes definitely have a very relaxed, casual “mumu” feel. Their story is about “reinventing the Mumu” and the ethos of the company is about girls supporting girls, sharing in their milestones and having fun with their wardrobes – choosing clothes that make them happy. I think this Range Romper has the perfect mix of utility and structure, while remaining clean, comfortable and chic – and is a great one-piece to wear into Fall. I’ll be pairing it with a light jacket/shacket for warmer looks, and it can go well with little cowboy booties or flats. The print of the one I styled here is called “Oasis” and is sadly sold out, but the romper is available in a few other color ways/patterns – check them out in the carousel below!
- Structured Colorful Bag. I mentioned about Coach bags really making a comeback in one of my previous posts, and I’ve found quite a few that I really love this Season. This Leather Tabby 20 Top Handle Bag has the perfect structured look and feel, and is small enough to be an evening bag; the cross-body strap is great for travel, and it comes in a lot of colors – check out the carousel below for a few options (some on Sale and from eBay).
- Neutral Sandals With A Little Edge. These Vionic Lupita Sandals in Peony have been on constant repeat this Summer, and I just found them online at a great price. I like that they have some subtle hardware details – which gives them a bit of edge, and they’re very supportive and comfortable for your feet, which simply can’t be beat! They also come in black.
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit this Summer and into Fall!
